Meanwhile, a seven day history lets you review a full week of exercise. The device also resets at midnight automatically so it's ready to go every morning. Of course, the device can also function as a handy and highly accurate clock. It also comes with a detachable belt holder and security strap so it's always close at hand. The HJ-112 is powered by a replaceable lithium battery (CR2032) that will last six months when used for walking 10,000 steps a day. The device measures approximately 2.8 x 2.1 x .6 inches (H x W x D) and weighs 1.1 ounces (not including battery).

Q&A - Pedometers
Does it matter where the pedometer is placed or attached?
The HJ-150 and 151 Pedometer must be positioned correctly. Attach the unit to your belt or to the top of your waistband. The unit must be horizontal to the ground in order for the unit to function correctly. The HJ-112 and HJ-720ITC Pocket Pedometer can also be placed in your pocket or purse.
What's the accuracy rate of Omron pedometers?
The precision of the step counting is within +/- 5%.
What are moderate steps?
At least 30 minutes of moderate exercise is recommended each day. The HJ-151 Pedometer separately displays the steps and minutes walked at a moderate pace.
What are aerobic steps?
The HJ-112 and HJ-720ITC Pocket Pedometer separately displays aerobic steps and minutes that start counting after 10 minutes of continuous walking with more than 60 steps a minute.
How does the PC software work?
The HJ-720ITC Pocket Pedometer includes PC software for Windows 2000 or XP. It keeps track of daily, weekly, monthly and yearly progress.

Great device Very Very Very poor belt clip |
|
It amazes me how a company could make such a wonderfully accurate and feature rich device and then give it a almost nonexistent belt clip. The clip is so flimsy it comes off at the slightest touch. This is on a device that is used to measure exercise levels and distances. When carried inside of a pocket the device was not nearly as accurate and needs to be carried in there with a certain orientation. If not for the belt clip I would have given this a 5 star rating. |

Staying on Track |

I love everything about this pedometer. It was easy to program and get started. I like that it tracks your steps, aerobic steps, calories burned, miles walked, etc. It's ability to reset itself every night at midnight is also very handy. A great product for a very reasonable price here on Saloncall. It is keeping me on track with my daily workouts and just to wear all day to track steps, etc. Love it!!!! |

Work toward 10,000 steps! |
I have tried the inexpensive pedometers that click away the steps. I found these to be very inaccurate, plus as silly as it may sound, the clicking sound irritated me. The Omron HJ-122 is great. I walked with a friend using his GPS and my pedometer matched his distance calculator. It is silent and the functions (time of day, miles, aerobic steps, 7-day memory, calorie counter) make it more interesting.
It is a little larger and heavier than I wish, but not so much that it is a drawback. The fact that you can put it in you pocket is handy, plus the leash clip holds on tight. It would be nice if the battery compartment used a slide-and-click method as the timy screws aren't easy. At least they give you a screwdriver to fit the tiny screws...an eyeglasses repair kit also works. |

Keep resetting itself to zero constantly, from day one, doesn't matter how much I try not to distrub it in any way possible.
